In-Floor Heat

Radiant Floor Heating

For more than ten years we have specialized in Uponor radiant in-floor heating. The system circulates warm water beneath your floor through flexible PEX tubing, distributing heat evenly without forced air, ductwork, or airborne dust.

How an Uponor system is designed

Each system is laid out specifically for your floor plan, heat loss, and floor finish. Continuous PEX loops run wall-to-wall, fed from a manifold that lets you zone every room independently. The result is even heat from the ankle up rather than the cycle of hot-cold-hot you get from forced air.

Where it works

New home construction is the easiest application, but radiant works under retrofits over existing slabs, between joists in second-floor renovations, in additions, in finished basements, and beneath every common floor finish: tile, stone, hardwood, engineered wood, and even carpet with the right pad rating.

Snow and ice melt

We design driveway, walkway, and step systems that melt snow and ice on contact. They run off the same boiler that heats the home, with a glycol mix and a slab sensor that triggers only when conditions warrant.

FAQ

Common questions

  • Can radiant heat my whole house?

Yes. With a properly insulated envelope and a boiler sized for the heat loss, radiant can be the sole heat source. Most homes in our climate use it as the primary system with minimal supplementation.

  • Will it work under hardwood?

Yes, with engineered hardwood and a tubing layout designed for the species. Solid wide-plank wood is workable but more sensitive. We will tell you honestly if a specific floor will not perform.

  • Is it more efficient than forced air?

In most homes, yes. Lower water temperatures, no duct losses, and the comfort delta means people often run the thermostat one to two degrees lower while feeling warmer.
